youth Bike Rodeo
Bike Rodeo begins at 11:00 am.

GV Rotary, at its new event, The Gold Country Challenge, has partnered with
Youth Bicyclists of Nevada County (YBONC) Foundation to sponsor our bike rodeo.
YBONC is a 501(3) not-for-profit organization who promotes and engages youths to the outdoors with cycling activities for school bike clubs in Nevada County.
They have 8 schools with school bike clubs, that’s approximately 130 youths annually! YBONC's bike rodeo program allows youths to pedal on a bike over paved and/or dirt path, practice bike safety skill stations and introduced to beginner level mountain biking features.
Participants receive a goodie bag with race plate no., water bottle, Cliff bar, and a “Bike Safety Skills Completion” certificate after completing bike safety skill stations.
Other related activities include a
~ Recycling bike parts: Keyring Station, recycle bike chains
~ T-shirt Station, make bike art imprints and the most fun station,
~ Fender Blender, demonstrate pedal power for creating fruit smoothies
